Custom (colored) labels on cards
"Suggestion: would be cool to be able to put colored stickers on the cards. A bit like your task status flags but with self-defined meanings. On a physical story map I’d have a stakeholder stick a red dot on the 5 cards that are the most important to her, for example."
"Would it be possible to have color coded cards at some point? For us, the second-level (gold) cards are what we could use this feature for most."
"Add a virtual circle sticky/highlight to a card to define it as high priority or in some way make it special"
Thanks for all the suggestions!

Hi there, I wanted to ask if there is a way to add "Labels" to a card. This would be the equvalent of sticing a small sticky note onto a real card, e.g. to mark it as urgent or give the card any oder kind of additional meaning.
This is NOT the same as given a new Color to a card. Labes should appear e.g. as coloured dots on a card in the tool.
One card could have more than one Labels, and all kind of differently colored cards could have different labels. We use this concept a lot in real live story mapping.
Labels can be used for a variety of topics - basically everything you could do with sticking small post-its onto larger ones. -

I want to add pain point or "blockers" indicators and the equivalent of other types of color-coded "dots" as I could do on paper post-its.

Being able to stick colored dots or something like that would be great (in addition to basic card color).
Card color is useful but enables only one "axis" of categorization.
Example:
I am a project manager. I use the red color to flag cards that must be discussed with the development team that will code a feature.
I also need a color code to flag a card that must me reprioritized by the product manager. What do I do if a card must be reprioritized AND must be discussed with the development team? I would like to see in one glance all the cards that I must discuss with someone.

I just came back from a 2 day course with Jeff Patton in San Francisco.
Jeff uses different colored dots as "delighters" for each persona. These are placed on the task cards that the team feel to be items that will give delight to that persona.

Would be very convenient to group cards into features or setting customer value. It would also be nice if when filtering by tag card count, total size and remaining size are updated.
Looking forward to it!!

I think this is a good idea. I would also like a quick visual way to see that a card has something special about it, a custom way to do it would be great. But I'd also settle for predefined annotation with pictures (similar to what Cardboardit does) e.g. a thumbs up, thumbs down, question mark etc, would give a good and quick visual indicator

I also want customizable label text - for example editable task label text with the option of adding more labels AND placing more than one label on the card.

I want to be able to put multiple labels on cards in order to view for example: status of requirements, who is working on refining it, if it is "end game", if I have questions on it for a certain meeting, If its included in the contract and so on
- Colour coded labels
- Label name is editable
- possible to add multiple labels to one card
- possibility to search/filter for cards with a certain label -
"We have one story map for the whole product line, would be useful to assign certain cards to a single product (and filter)" - Jeroen

This is prob easy to implement but there are enough colors for me... I guess where it might be nice is to sync colour of say all cards in a release (horizontal slice) and them when dragging a card out of a release it would be easy, at a glance capable to see where it came from

Yes - "stickers/dots" would be great. Multiple per card. Let us define their meaning. Then, let us filter based on the view of stickers we want to focus on at one time.

"Sometimes card belong to multiple themes… I would like to be able to tag cards or associate them to others in some way & then do a find related or highlight related to call out all of the cards associated to the one I’m working on. "

Several levels are needed:
- must have
- should have
- could have
- won't have
- don't knowI prefer labels instead of a post-it in a particular color.
