Yes, this would be very useful. With only a name I can not remember what a specific "Release" stands for. With a note on each "Release", I can see the growing of my product.

Also adding pictures would be useful:
"I would like to be able to associate a picture with a release. Each release is a new version of our product and I'd like a visual reference to indicate what each release may look like. (eg… if this was a release roadmap for iPhones, I'd like to have a pic of each iPhone next to each release). " - Oliver
