Establish dependencies between cards (link related cards)
It would be useful to link dependent cards across or within activities and show/hide this dependency as a line arow between the cards

I think having lines could make the view quite messy (anyone that has ever used MS Project knows this can end up looking chaotic!). I think if you can intrinsically link one story as a dependency to another, then you know if the functionality hasn't been built for A then B can be displayed as 'Blocked'. If you can then see within card B which cards are blocking it then you can account for that in your prioritisation.
Challenges I could see with this are:
- Chain of blockages - if there was some way you could see a 'chain' of dependencies then that would be awesome, i.e. a separate view to show if ticket A is blocking ticket B is blocking ticket C, then the order of events required to release ticket C.
- Type of dependency - is there a soft dependency on a feature being built, so you can use a copy of the feature to build similar ones? Or is there a hard dependency that a feature needs to be live in order for this new feature to function?
- Type of card - the above sounds sensible for a story-level, but what if a story is dependent on an entire Epic being completed? Are you dependent on just the MVP being complete or every single card being complete? SOB doesn't support release categorisation to this level so currently it wouldn't know...Interested to see how you work this one out :)

yup - I've been using colour to highlight this kind of thinking till now - just to bring the issue to someone's attention.

It would be great if we can connect cards since some of them can have dependencies from another.

Definitely something that would be really useful.

I like your idea. I already miss the feature to link cards to each other.
E.g. I have different cards for the backend and frontend development assigned to different teams. I would love to have the cards for basically one issue linked together which would increase the overview of the system.

I guess something similar to what Trello does could be useful, this way we wouldn't see a plain url

Link cards to one another - if you have a reference to another story card, you link to it so you don't lose track of inter-dependencies

Some free form (visio like) web site for mapping (like cacoo) are looking good. But setting up that good looking so that all of the cards are lined up is really painful.
Luckily StoriesOnBoard does not have that flaw. It is less flexible but that allows me to focus on creating stories and putting them under the column without having to care about if it is a quarter of an inch to much to the left.
But one thing I miss about free forms is the ability to visually add lines and links between my cards.
If I could have a way with StoriesOnBoard to link two cards with a line and comment on that line, it would help me tag some information that the map does not provide on its own.
I do not think I would like to see those lines all the time, so a toggle on/off to visually view the lines/links between my cards would be good.
And to add the cherry on the sunday: Jira already has links between stories. If I could have a way to import those links when I import my board, that would make my day.
Should I have the Jira links imported, to be fair I could live without editing the links in StoriesOnBoard, thus only seeing them in StoriesOnBoard and managing them in Jira. But hey, if you can make both work ;)
Lastly, it would be good to turn on the visual of lines/links of a particular link type. That is lower priority in my opinion.
So to sum up: A way to create visual links between cards where I could put a name (or not) to that link. And of course if I change a story's position, the link would follow.

Thanks for the suggestion! Would it mean linking of different cards (to show that they related in some way), or would this mean placing one card to different places on the board?

Link between related cards from different sections.
As storiesonboard user I would like to be able to link between cards from different sections so I will not need to copy the same cards few times.
