Sync epics with Pivotal Tracker
-
Thanks Daniel!
As I understand you'd like to sync the story map's releases as epics in Pivotal Tracker. We'll take that into account. -

Dear Arpad,
Thank you for this awesome release planning tool. It is by far the best story mapping tool I've used and your support for jira, tracker, and trello is spot on.In tracker, an epic is just a special designated label.
I'd be happy to show my team's "epic" workflow in tracker. In general an epic is an end to end release and maps directly to a SOB release. Though I have worked with teams using epics to group stories related to a specific component (e.g. database adapter, photo upload), I believe this is less conventional.
Without this feature. I typically push stories in SOB to tracker. Then I navigate to tracker, locate the new stories, select them stories, and lastly I add to the tracker epic.

YES!!! Epics should be synced into the 2nd Row

Thanks for the comments!
@Ed, it may be implemented later, but there are a few highest voted requests before on our backlog.
May I ask you how do you use Pivotal Tracker's epics? What are you not able to do in Pivotal Tracker without them?
We may find an option that can be implemented easier (=earlier) than a two way sync of the hierarchy. Thanks!

I endorse @Jakub comment. The second row for me are the epics. Epics can span more than one release and looking at the MapShop demo I think that's the way the SOB team is pretty similar.
So please allow this kind of sync. -

Guys is this going to happen ? Pivotal Tracker Sync is a real pain without this.

I disagree with Jakub's comment. Epics are more closely associated with a release in SOB. It is possible that more than 1 release though could be linked to an epic (e.g. iteration 1, iteration 2. etc...) however the second level is only limited to a user's activity. an epic will often span the entire scope of a product

Pivotal Tracker allows us to create epics which can have number of stories belong to it. For me second row in in SOB are Epics - big actions which are used for coming up with stories with releases. Therefore, when I export a release, I would like to have stories with description of which Epic they belong to in SOB, what would be visible in PT.
